Minato Studio · Sydney

Travel apps for the trips people actually take.

Not the frictionless holiday in the brochure, the one with three generations, four currencies, a toddler who naps at two, and no signal in the mountains.

The TabiLog dashboard, showing each traveller's budget against its monthly limit and a breakdown of spending by category.
The premise

One trip. Three problems worth solving properly.

Most travel apps try to be the whole holiday and end up thin everywhere. Minato Studio does the opposite: three small apps, each doing one hard thing completely.

Where did the money go?

Four wallets, three currencies, and a pile of receipts nobody wants to sort at midnight. That's TabiLog.

Can everyone survive this day?

A day that suits a 38-year-old can quietly break a 3-year-old and a 78-year-old. That's TabiPace.

What are we doing on day nine?

The whole trip on one screen, dense enough to replace the spreadsheet. That's TabiPlanner.

The apps

Three tools, one journey

Each one stands alone. You never need the other two.

TabiLog

Travel money, per person
In use

Separate budgets for each traveller, each in its own currency. Snap a receipt now and file it later. Split one shop receipt across four kids in a single step.

Tell it what each traveller can manage: walking, stairs, heat, when they need to rest. Sketch the day. It tells you who the day will break, and why, before you're standing at the bottom of a hill.

What TabiPace does

TabiPlanner

The trip, at a glance
On Google Play

Built on one finding: people abandon trip apps and go back to spreadsheets because they can't see the whole trip at once. So this one shows the whole trip at once.

How these are built

Four rules, held on purpose

Apps in this category rarely die of missing features. They die of data loss, sync bugs and slow decay. So the rules are about durability, not ambition.

  1. Offline is the default, not the upgrade

These get used in rural Japan with no signal. Nothing important should wait for a network.

  2. Your data leaves whenever you want

CSV, Excel and PDF export from day one. No format you can't open somewhere else.

  3. Collect as little as possible

Your data is never sold or handed to a data broker. TabiPace goes furthest: no server, no account, nothing leaves the device. TabiLog's Android build carries ads, and the privacy page says exactly what that means.

  4. Finished beats feature-rich

A small app that works every time is worth more than a large one that mostly does.

The name

港 · minato · harbour

A harbour is where a journey starts, and the thing you're glad to see at the end of one. Tabi (旅) is the journey itself. That's the whole idea: quiet tools that get you out the door and safely back.

Start with TabiLog

The one that's finished and in daily use: separate budgets per traveller, receipts that can wait, and a PDF report at the end that actually explains where the money went.
